How it works
- Tell us about your fence or gate. Give the boundary length in metres, the height, how many gates you need and whether you want supply only or full installation.
- We match you with a contractor. Your request goes to a fencing contractor or supplier who works in your province or city.
- Receive your quote. The contractor contacts you with a price for materials and installation. The service is free and there is no obligation.

Why diamond mesh fencing is so popular
Diamond mesh is the default boundary fence on South African smallholdings, farms, schools and industrial yards because it gives the most metres of fence for your money. It is quick to install on uneven ground, easy to repair, and it does not block the view or the breeze. Galvanised mesh suits most inland areas, while PVC-coated green or black mesh lasts longer at the coast and blends into gardens. For more security, contractors add razor wire, barbed wire or an electric fence on top.
Where a boundary must stop climbing and cutting, palisade, clear view fencing and weldmesh panels are stronger options. Precast concrete walls give privacy. Many properties combine them: palisade or clear view at the street, diamond mesh along the back and sides.
Fencing costs in South Africa
Fencing is priced per metre, but the rate depends on more than the material. Height, wire gauge or steel profile, coating, the number of corners and gates, ground conditions and access all change the final figure. Rocky ground and slopes take longer to dig, and sites far from town add travel. Supply-only orders cost less than installed fences but you then need your own team. The quickest way to know your real cost is a written quote based on your boundary, which our free service arranges for you.
